Client: The New York Times
In collaboration with The New York Times and their in-house Virtual Reality team, the viewer followed filmmaker, photographer, and expert climber Jimmy Chin as he scaled The World Trade Center in “Man On Spire.” Chin traveled to death-defying heights in order to strap a 360° camera setup to the 408-foot-tall spire on top of the skyscraper.
The resulting footage is unique, showing off a key piece of the most photographed skyline in the world in a completely new way. Our visceral 360º experience then climaxes with a stunning timelapse of NYC’s expansive landscape. With this experience, we helped The New York Times continue to push the edge of journalism and celebrate a city too big for ordinary video.
