The Fight for Falluja

The Fight for Falluja

In collaboration with The New York Times, Koncept VR provided post-production for “The Fight for Falluja,” a 360°, firsthand experience showcasing the battles Iraqi forces endured to retake the city of Falluja from the Islamic State.

The film transports us to the violent frontlines alongside Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ben C. Solomon and Shia militiamen. Together, we explore the devastated region. Facing sweltering heat and nearby gunfire, we are enveloped in the harsh reality of war.

The piece is one of the first VR experiences to ever be filmed in an active war zone and a clear example of how immersive photography can help journalists tell critically important stories in new ways and bring them to new audiences.
